    England, a small bonded clothing store, was founded in front of Ewha Womans University.

    On September 23, 1980, Chairman Park Sung-Soo opened the doors of England with a philosophy of offering twice the value at half the price, selling casual duty-free clothing that was popular at the time with a focus on affordability and practicality.“

    Introduction of Korea's First Fashion Franchise

    In 1986, the company changed its name from "England," which was used in the early days of the business, to "E-Land" and incorporated as a legal entity. Later, the company launched its four flagship brands, including "BRENTANO" in 1983, "Underwood" in 1985, and "Hunt" in 1988.

    The franchise stores with uniform designs and manuals were a fresh shock to the fashion industry, which was dominated by duty-free stores at the time.

    Expansion into the children's clothing market

    Launching 'Little Bren', 'E-Land Junior', and 'Underwood School' one after another, E-Land introduced children's clothing with various colors and aesthetically pleasing designs to the monotonous center of the underwear-focused children's clothing market.
