· Tips to Maintaining Your Jeans

Jeans never go out of style - they're a fashion favorite for men and women of all ages. But we've all had the experience of buying a pair of jeans, only to try them on and realize they're not what we expected. Why is it so hard to find the perfect pair of jeans for you?

Chapter 1
The Perfect Pair of Jeans for You

There are many different types of fits for jeans. From straight to tapered, there are more than a dozen, and different brands call them different things. This is what makes you get lost in a jeans store.

If you're slender or average, you'll want to start with straight and slim fits. These are the most basic fits and work well with all styles. If you want to make your legs look longer, try a skinny fit, and if you wear heels, a bootcut is also a good option.

"Jeans make my thighs look chubby."

For those with a more developed lower body, we recommend a tapered fit and a wide fit. The tapered fit has more room in the thigh for a slimmer look, while the wide fit looks great with shorter tops. If you're a little uncomfortable with the wide fit, we recommend the boyfriend fit, which is a little looser than the tapered fit.

Chapter 2
The Fabric Matters

Jeans come in many different styles, depending on the fabric and wash. Once you've found the right fit for you, the next step is to find the right fabric and wash style.

There are two types of basic unwashed denim fabrics: selvedge denim and raw denim. If you're looking for a sophisticated style in a deep blue color, we recommend raw denim. Raw denim is a fabric that has been dyed with indigo (a dark blue dye). It feels stiff at first, but its appeal lies in the way it changes color and shape over time.

If you want a classic pair of jeans, try selvedge denim. It's made with an authentic weave, and it's stiffer and thicker than raw denim, which makes it great for creating wash patterns.

Another option if you're bored of blue jeans is a wash jean. They're raw or selvedge denim with intentionally subtracted color. Depending on how they're processed, they have different wash patterns.

If you want to go bolder, there are damaged jeans. damaged jeans are jeans that have been intentionally damaged. They're ripped, cut, and stylized to reveal the yarns inside.

Chapter 3
Sustainable Denim

You might think that jeans are good for the environment because of their durability, but actually they're not.

A pair of jeans typically goes through 40 washes and generates 7,000 liters of wastewater per pair. This is why rivers near where they are produced are polluted with blue dye.

To minimize the environmental impact, fashion brand SPAO developed eco-friendly fabrics, using certified cotton yarns and premium RUC (reused cotton) fabrics, and changed the fabric processing method to ozone-based processing.

The ozone-based processing saves 95% of chemicals, 40% of electricity, and 95% of water compared to conventional methods. Recently, E-Land, SPAO's holding company, introduced a "two-day production system" to reduce the amount of discarded clothing as part of its efforts to address environmental pollution in the fashion market.

As a result of these efforts, the company has sold 5 million pieces of Spao jeans cumulatively and 800,000 pieces annually. Of these, eco-friendly jeans accounted for 40% of Spao's total jeans sales, rising to 60% last year.

Chapter4
Tips to Care Your Jeans

We don't recommend washing jeans because of the risk of fading or warping. If you must wash them, we recommend dry cleaning them, but it can be pricey to dry clean your jeans every time they get dirty.

In this case, here's the best way to wash your jeans without losing a cent!

Prepare a 1:10 ratio of cold salt water. A small amount of salt will prevent the denim from losing its color. Zipper up and button down, then place your jeans in a wash net to minimize washing-induced deformation. We recommend using a neutral detergent and minimizing spin-dry. After washing, flip your jeans inside out and dry them in a shaded place.

To make your jeans last longer, it's also important to store them properly. The best way to store your jeans is to fold them in half and hang them by the hem on a hanger. The weight of the waist will naturally stretch out the wrinkles and prevent them from warping. However, if you have limited closet space, you may want to roll them up instead. Fold them in half and then slowly roll them up from the waist, making sure to roll them loosely, as rolling them too tightly can cause warping.

"Jeans represent democracy in fashion."

(Giorgio Armani, The founder of Armani)

Armani believed that jeans were the most accessible fashion item that anyone could afford, regardless of their class. As popular as jeans are, it can be difficult to find the right fit. This spring, try a pair of jeans from SPAO that are both stylish and sustainable.
