Hello, it’s Ssoyoung. These days, I’m happy but busy spending time with Miso! I received a wonderful offer from E-Land to enjoy delicious fresh cream cakes while contributing to charity, so I decided to participate as a special editor for E-Land Magazine.
Today’s mukbang features the famous Frangerry ‘Mango & Strawberry Cake,’ known for its great value! I love all kinds of sweet desserts like cakes, fruits, and jellies. Even during my pregnancy, I didn’t have morning sickness, so I remember indulging in desserts during my last month.
Even after doing mukbangs for over five years, Frangerry’s Strawberry & Mango Cake blew me away! Let me tell you why. (Frangerry cake is amazing, folks.)
1. First Impressions: Too Good to Be True?
Two thoughts crossed my mind when I took the cake out of the box. First, “There are so many fruits piled up!” And second, after hearing the price, “Can they sell it for this price?” The Mango & Strawberry Cake had so much fruit that I wondered if they had miscalculated the ratio of fruits to fresh cream. The fresh cream and cake layers were perfectly balanced, neither creamy nor dry. The combination of fruits, cream, and cake was so luxurious that it felt like a high-end cake from a department store priced at around 100,000 KRW. (But it’s only 19,900 KRW!)
2. Mango Madness
My main focus was the Mango Cake. I was curious about how much fresh mango was on the cake, so I counted the layers—it was a three-tiered mango feast. The mangoes were perfectly ripened, sweet without any sourness, making me feel like I was enjoying a dessert at a luxury hotel. The large, diced mango pieces were fantastic, with juice in every bite.
The cake layers, which I didn’t expect much from, surprised me. After tasting the mango on top, I thought, “If the cake layers are delicious too, this is a steal.” And it truly was. Whether the syrup on the layers or the perfect balance with the cream, the Mango Cake was soft and tasty, making me forget about my post-pregnancy diet. It paired better with a fizzy drink like an aide rather than milk.
3. A Berry Sweet Surprise
The Strawberry Cake was love at first sight. The large strawberries, about the size of two fingers, looked so beautiful on the white cream that I thought, “Is this a Christmas cake?” Before eating, I was a bit worried because I had a bad experience with sour summer strawberries. But the strawberries on this cake were different. They had a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess, something you can’t find in winter strawberries. This balance kept the cream from becoming too cloying.
I usually like cafe-brand strawberry cakes, but they are often too sweet to eat much of. However, Frangerry’s Strawberry Cake had such a good balance that I ate the whole cake. It went well with milk; I thought it would be great to enjoy it with wine in the evening for a more sophisticated vibe.
4. A Delightful Cake Gathering
I couldn’t eat such a beautiful cake alone, so I invited my mom, sister-in-law, and nephews to share. (Miso is still too young, so she just stared at the cake...) The kids were excited to dig in, and my mom and sister-in-law were surprised at the sheer amount of fruit on top. My mom, who loves Southeast Asian fruits, said the mango on the Mango Cake tasted like the ones she had in Southeast Asia. My sister-in-law, who doesn’t usually like sweets, surprisingly enjoyed eating half of the Strawberry Cake.
If I had to choose between the Mango Cake and the Strawberry Cake, I’d go with the Strawberry Cake. Although the sweet Mango Cake was great, the sweet and tangy Strawberry Cake suited my taste better. And for the next cake... how about a Kiwi Cake? A mix of gold and green kiwi would make a fantastic cake!
